It comes in both sedan and coupe versions. The base engine, a 1.5-liter four cylinder is rated by the EPA for 32 mpg in city driving and 42 mpg on the highway. The bigger, 206-horsepower 2-liter power plant is available with the Si coupe with a fuel economy of 31 mpg and 40 mpg for city and highway respectively.

If you are looking for a safe and dependable car that is affordably priced, the CR-V is your best bet. The base 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine is rated for 28 mpg in city driving, 34 mpg on the highway. The more powerful 2.4-liter four is estimated at 25 mpg for city and 31 mpg for highway.

Get additional safety features such as forward collision avoidance, automatic braking and lane-keeping assist with trim levels of EX and above.

For 2018, the design has undergone a total revamp that has made the car more comfortable and powerful with its tech-friendly cabin and elegant trim.  The Q5 has a 2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that is rated for 23 mpg in city driving and 27 mpg on the highway.

Chevrolet Impala

The Impala from Chevrolet is also a favorite for many years. The 2018 models have a bigger trunk as compared to their rivals, along with the sophisticated like Apple CarPlay, GPS navigation and in-car Wi-Fi. You get to pick among a four-cylinder rated at 22 mpg and 30 mpg for city and highway respectively and a V-6 rated at 19 mpg for city and 28 mpg highway.

Fuel economy is great too with the 3.5-liter, twin-turbo V-6 engine is rated for 17 mpg in city driving and 24 mpg on the highway.
